ABOUT

Gallery weekends have been taking place in cities in Europe and all around the world for over a decade. The goal of this yearly event is to provide an opportunity to discover the city’s art spaces, visit exhibitions, meet creators and form a lasting habit of going to galleries.

Vilnius Gallery Weekend has been taking place since 2016 and symbolically marks the beginning of the exhibition season. The event is now becoming a yearly tradition, bringing public attention to the broad panorama of contemporary art in the capital and encouraging visitors to find new destinations on the city’s ever-growing cultural map.

Its fourth incarnation will be held on 5-8 September, welcoming visitors at over 30 art galleries, project spaces and artist studios, where exhibition openings, meetings with creators, discussions, tours, film screenings and various other events will take place.

Organiser: Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists Association

The project is partially funded by: Lithuanian Council for Culture, Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania and Vilnius City Municipality

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
